Back from Miguel's Pizza!

We just went to Gray's Arch, a beautiful rock formation connected to a cliff! Then we went to a Pro Shop/Pizza Restaurant, Miguel's Pizza. They have over 20 toppings! We'll be home tomorrow!

Almost Done!!!

How can it be the last day of our trip already!? We've had an experience of a lifetime up in Kentucky. The week has flown by so fast with many activities to serve The Lord such as helping build a house for a man and his family, and hosting a VBS for many kids who need The Lord at their favorite place: the water park.  As for our last day of the trip, we are taking a celebratory hike to Grey's Arch in Slate, Kentucky and then going out to dinner at Miguel's Pizza.  We've all seen many changes in our lives through this trip from the very intentional talks between us and the Leader Treks as well as the great study of the book Nehemiah.  We can't wait to see all of the parents after our great 10 hour trip back.  Thank you for all of your prayers and we continue to pray for you guys as well!

It's already Tuesday?

Hey everyone, its shannon! Wow this trip has flown by, but I have to say that today has been the most inspiring day of all. It was our last day on the work site and doing vbs for the kids, so we made some goals last night on how we could finish hard. We got an AMAZING amount of work done at the site. I don't think I saw a single person sitting down the whole time. It was really great to see our team come together and be so determined, and encouraging to each other. Some of us even got the opportunity to talk to Spencer's daughter (spencer is the owner of the house). Right after that we rushed to vbs and got going immediately . We led worship songs, did games, crafts, and Bailey boldly shared his testimony to the kids. It was so inspiring that a few kids prayed with team members and accepted Christ. So after that full packed day of fun, determination, teamwork, and learning, we returned back to the cyc for the night. If everyone could continue to pray for spencer and his family, the kids we have impacted and sadly have to leave behind, our teams safety and health, and open hearts even though our trip is coming to a close, we'd appreciate it. We miss everyone back at home! (Hi mom) see you all soon!!

CYC week: VBS and Work site.

Hey guys! This is Hunter I'm So excited to be posting today! The last few days we have been serving God through putting siding up on a house for a guy named Spencer. Spencer is a guy who has had some struggles in the past and he is wanting to learn more about Christ and how he can change his ways. Please be in prayer for us as we impact him while working on his house for Christ. Not only have we been able to serve God through our work site but we have been able to serve the community by doing VBS based off the armor of God. Yesterday we all had the chance to interact with young and older children and telling them about God and how we can stand firm in him. We all had a blast learning about the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth and the shield of Faith. After we did crafts we went to the splash park where we all got soaked either by children or just by wanting to get wet. After we dried off a little we all put our names in a hat drew names and went to good will to find a piece of clothing $4.00 or less. Personally I had a really small girly outfit with a bedazzled heart on the front of it. (Pictures to come) we all had crazy outfits. After we got dressed into our outfits we went to Sonic and got the MOST DELICIOUS FOOD EVA! After we ate, every night we have what we call Team time where we have growth journal, bible study, and evaluation.    Today we had the great pleasure of attending Manchester Baptist Church and growing on a Sunday morning. We all were able to interact with a morning "bible study" as pastor Ken would call it and talk about  Isaiah 53 and how his prophecy matched exactly how history happened. Then after that we took in worship in John 19:16-27 in how Jesus died for us and how he wasn't just a clean white man with holes in his hands and feet but he was crushed for our sins and brutally beaten.
Some things you can pray for us: Spencer as we impact him in building his house, the VBS kids that came out with us yesterday, us as a team and team communication, enthusiasm, and encouragement.
Everybody is doing great and having lots of fun serving The Lord. Hope to post again soon.
Thanks y'all!

WE SURVIVED

We did it! We had an awesome time adventuring and learning on our 4 day trek along the North Carolina/Tennessee border in the forest. This trip pushed us out of our comfort zones - physically, spiritually, and pretty much in every other aspect imaginable :). Regardless, we had an amazing time getting to know each other, our LeaderTreks guides, and how to survive in the woods. By the end of the first night, we had learned how to collect and purify water, set up tents, and cook meals. By the next day we had mastered these tasks and even learned how to navigate the woods with just a compass and map. Each day we had a new "navigation team" of 2 students who would lead us to our next campsite - each nav team did a great job and overcame obstacles to get us to our destination. Overall, we all learned a lot about ourselves, working as a team, camping, and most importantly, how to strengthen our relationship with God.
